Unemployment

Widespread unemployment across the youth and the working age population is a huge challenge in development of the societal standard of living in Bihar. A majority of the working age population in Bihar is engaged in Marginal works and primarily into agriculture.

Supply – Demand mismatch

The trainings across the various skill development programs have not kept pace with the changing requirements of the industry. The courses being currently offered in various skill developments schemes across the state have not been selected on the basis of their employment potential or based on Industry demand. Thus there is currently a peculiar concern of “un-employment of trained candidates” and “lack of skilled manpower as perceived by Industry” coexistent.
